— Where locals actually go

Hotel buffets are reliable. These places are better. Each one is open by 7 am in season and knows the dive-boat schedule.

Three ways to eat well here

Mezze & grill houses

Post-dive breakfast cafés

Beach shacks & evening spots

Divers eat twice before noon. The cafés near the Old Market open at 6 am, serve strong coffee, and have the full Egyptian breakfast ready before the second boat departs.

Side streets off Na'ama Bay hold a dozen family-run spots. Order the mixed mezze plate and the catch of the day. Open from 8 am through late evening.

A handful of shacks along Sharks Bay serve grilled fish directly off the boat. They close when the fish runs out — usually by 9 pm in peak season.

• Na'ama Bay & Old Market

Both eating districts, mapped

Na'ama Bay is convenient and walkable from most resorts. The Old Market is ten minutes by taxi and worth it — lower prices, longer hours, and no tourist markup.
